Jennifer Derby, J.D.

Jen Derby is a Wealth Strategist and based out of Baird’s Pittsburgh-South Hills
office. As part of the Wealth Strategist team at Baird, Jen assists Financial
Advisors in developing customized solutions for the specific planning needs of
their ultra-high net-worth clients and those with planning complexities, such as
business owners and clients with significant private investments. This planning
includes careful consideration of each client’s unique estate and legacy goals and
values in conjunction with the tax and wealth transfer implications of their
planning.

Jen also works with business-owner clients in building, protecting, and
transferring their wealth through thoughtful succession planning. This includes
guiding business owners through internal or external exit or transition strategies
that align with their business goals, personal vision, long-term legacy planning,
and family dynamics.

Prior to joining Baird, Jen practiced law at Tucker Arensberg, P.C., in Pittsburgh
where she was a shareholder and Co-Chair of the firm’s estate and trust practice
group. During her 13-year legal career, Jen primarily focused on estate, tax, and
wealth transfer planning; estate administration; elder law; long-term care
planning; and business succession planning.

Jen frequently lectures on topics related to estate and trusts law for the
Community College of Allegheny County, as well as for other professional and
community groups and organizations.

Jen earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Miami School of
Law, and her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Jen is
a member of the Pennsylvania bar
